Jack’s Chattanoggins

Jack’s Chattanoggins 2012 was a huge success!  Thank you Chattanooga for helping us raise $35,000 for the Children’s Hospital Foundation!  We can’t wait until next year!

June 10, 2012 at The Chattanooga Market

Jack is my son. My son, who at 10 years old was inspired by a book to shave his head in support of children with cancer. The book is Drums, Girls and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick.  This year will be Jack’s FOURTH year shaving his head to help raise money for pediatric cancer research.

We have been fortunate enough to have been invited to have our event, once again, at one of our favorite places in town, The Chattanooga Market.  In addition, we continue to partner with the Children’s Hospital Foundation and all monies raised will remain in Chattanooga.

HOW CAN YOU HELP? (Thanks for asking!)

Ok, if I and some friends want to be shavees, what do we need to do? I clicked the link above & was totally lost. Thanks

Thanks for leaving a message Bill! It is fixed! I cannot explain what happened. :-)

I wanted to tell you what a huge honor it was to meet you and your family. Jack is a huge inspiration and I’ve never been a part of something so humbling. I’ve met the aftermath of all of this with mixed emotion. I believe there are some who think I have cancer and look at me with great pity. Others ask and I share the story of Jack and of the kids who need all of us. What I find most amazing is the people who tell me how courageous I am for shaving my head. While I appreciate the kindness I can’t help but to feel the shaving of my head is not courageous. It is the battle that these kids and their families go through daily – now that takes courage. Thank you for having such a wonderful son who shares himself with others.

We cannot thank you, and the 99 others who shaved their head, enough! YOU are courageous too. You had a choice to help and do something brave – and you DID. We are honored by your participation and the generosity of time and spirit you gave. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
